⚠️ Important: This policy applies to all staff, contractors, and visitors at ADHD Action Network meetups and programmes.

General Statement of Intent

It is the policy of the Trust to comply with the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and other relevant Health and Safety legislation.

The Trust aims to create an organisational culture that positively promotes and maintains healthy and safe working practices and a healthy and safe working environment. The Trust Board recognises its responsibility to manage the Trust in such a way as to facilitate this aim.

The Trust Board is fully committed to safeguarding its employees, service users, the public, and others who are affected by its activities.

The Trust will:

  • Provide sufficient control of Health and Safety risks arising from our work activities.
  • Consult with our employees on matters affecting their health and safety.
  • Provide and maintain safe plant and equipment.
  • Ensure safe handling and use of substances.
  • Provide information, instruction, and supervision for employees.
  • Ensure all employees are competent to do their tasks and give them adequate training.
  • Look to prevent accidents, incidents, and cases of work-related ill health by proactively managing hazards and reducing risks so far as is reasonably practicable.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Review arrangements and policies at regular intervals.

For such standards to be achieved, adequate financial and physical resources shall, so far as is reasonably practicable, be made available, thereby ensuring continuing development of the competence of employees and the provision of any necessary expert advice.

Equally, it is recognised that all employees have a duty of care to themselves and others by avoiding hazards, preventing accidents, and co-operating with the Trust by complying with all instructions and recommendations on health and safety.

2. Equality Statement
